Purposeful practice. Grounded expertise.

I lead change in ways that incorporate both practice (what the desired change is and how that is put into effect) and perception (how the shifts are viewed and experienced by those affected).

I’ve been fortunate to do this work in industry, academia, nonprofits, and politics across a 20-year career. Now, I want to help others do the same.

Transforming organizations

Most recently, I served as Chief Operating Officer at a market research firm that was evolving its practices to be more scalable as the company grew. Prior to that, I led Network Programs at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School, where I developed new revenue-generating programs connected to the center’s community.

As Executive Director at The New York Times, I engaged on a number of critical enterprise initiatives, including directing a full business metrics transformation that was sponsored by the Chief Growth Officer. I also shaped the career framework, charter, and promotion guidelines for the program management organization; rebooted team culture via a new organizational structure and healthy communication and work norms; advised on a policy for improving a meetings-heavy culture and supporting a hybrid work environment; and established an Operations and Chief of Staff function, including roles and responsibilities.

Previously, I served as a Chief of Staff in Google Core, where I drove operational excellence: streamlining the QBR strategy and template for the CIO and establishing a portfolio management practice to facilitate quicker decision-making. When Covid-19 hit, I guided the organization through headcount and budget clawbacks, and realigned teams to support critical initiatives. I also drove the narrative and asset development for a readout to Sundar’s staff on access and insider risk (AIR), privacy, and security.

For the four years prior, I was Global Head of Go-to-Market Strategy and Operations in Google Cloud, where I hired and led a distributed team from Seattle to Singapore to support and rapidly scale two organizations — Sales Engineering & Solutions Engineering — that quickly grew from 100 to +2K people worldwide. Our team developed and enabled the first sales process and led the creation and cross-functional alignment of Cloud’s go-to-market strategy, Priority Solutions.
